Question:
What is the difference between dermabrasion and chemical peel?
Answer:
Dermabrasion means skin scraping (the top layer of the skin is scraped off mechanically). The purpose of this treatment is to reduce the fine wrinkles, discolouration, and acne scars. A chemical peel has the same purpose, but here the removal of the upper layer of the skin is done through cauterisation with acid. There are several types of solutions for chemical peel used, depending on the desired effect. Please refer to our treatment guide in order to learn more about dermabrasion and chemical peel, and to find the clinics that offer the treatments.
