Question:
How can women have their labia reduced?
Answer:
An operation for reduction of the inner and/or outer genital lips (labia) can be done for functional or cosmetic reasons. The inner vaginal lips can sometimes be so large that they cause physical discomfort to the patient. It may hurt when sitting on a bicycle saddle or during sex. Most women who have the surgery done, do it for cosmetic reasons, though. During the procedure, the inner labia are reduced in size, so that they are not bigger than the outer labia. As for the outer labia, surgical reductions are only done for cosmetic reasons. The outer labia can be so large that they - in combination with the vulva - show a prominent contour in tight trousers and in a bathing suit.
