Wart Removal / Skin Tumour Removal

Treatment information

Warts are usually treated by excision or cryo-therapy (freezing). The treatment is laid out depending on the type and the amount of warts.

Generally about the treatment

Excision or freezing are commonly used methods for wart removal. Often the treatment is done in combination with medical treatment or laser treatment.

Warts are caused by a virus infection, and in most cases they disappear by themselves after a period of time.

If you still choose to have them removed surgically, you must be aware, that you will risk getting a scar instead of a wart, which could very well have disappeared by itself after a few years.

Suitability

For people with physical discomfort, or problems with their looks, because of warts, laser treatment can be an option.

It is generally recommended, that you begin with consulting your GP, if you suffer from warts.

The procedure

Risk of complications

There is a risk of side effects from the anaesthetic used, along with bleeding, poor wound healing, a poor cosmetic result, and blood accumulation.

No form of surgery is risk free, although severe complications are very rare.
